The Apex Legends Preseason Invitationals had some of the top teams in esports from all over the world; Teams such as Natus Vincere, Counter Logic Gaming, and G2 Esports.
TSM began the tournament by racking up the minimum 50 points, which was required to be eligible for match point, really put up an impressive effort. They got their 50 points after just six rounds, but then it took five more rounds before they would win the tournament.
In one of the rounds, there was a tense moment when TSM’s Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen and GamerOrigins Romain “wSerious” Dittmann were the only two players standing, but wSerious held on tightly. Thus, TSM was forced to take another three rounds before they could get their victory.
TSM, MVP, and GamersOrigin were the final three teams. TSM was in the top of each of their groups through the bracket leading up to the Grand Final.
Today’s victory will see TSM take home a huge cut of the tournament’s whopping $500,000 prize pool. The remaining teams have been ranked according to the number of points they garnered over the series, meaning Na`Vi have finished the day in second place.
Although the preseason is over, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts will definitely host more online and offline tournaments for the 2020 season.
