16 teams that will compete in PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) season zero have been decided after 12 matches in the weekdays play for week two of the tournament.
The 16 teams emerge from the 24 teams that have been divided into three groups of eight teams each.
As the battle for the last 16 begins, the groups will compete in a round-robin format in the weekdays’ play scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. The winners then make it to the Super Weekend of that week.
Throughout the Super Weekend, winners get crucial championship points to be part of the 16 teams that compete in the PMGC Finals that will hold in January 2021.
The PUBG Mobile biggest event features a prize pool of $2 million. From the prize pool, $700,000will be shared by teams based on the results of the league stage, while those involved in finals will share a $1.7 million prize pool.
The 16 teams that have qualified for the second Super Weekend of the PMGC season zero league stage include Four Angry Men, Bigetron Red Aliens, Futbolist, Power888 KPS, Secret Jin, Blue Bees, RRQ Athena, Nova XQF, Konina Power, Z3US Esports, Alpha7 Esports, A1 Esports, Godsent, Execute, Klas Digital Athletics, and Loops Esports.
The teams already out of the Super Weekend are Natus Vincere, DRS Gaming, Elites United Team, Aerowolf Limax, The Unnamed, Archer Gaming, Team Secret, and Abrupt Slayers.
The PMGC returns today. This is when the final day of the first Super Weekend will be played.
A power outage had forced the game scheduled for the PUBG Mobile studio in Katowice, Poland, to be postponed while the second Super Weekend is scheduled for December 5 to 7.
