Top Esports mid-laner Zhuo “knight” Ding has emerged as the winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the regular season of China’s 2020 LPL Summer Split.

With this honour, Knight is the third player in the league’s history to win more than one MVP title. Others who have achieved the same feat include Invictus Gaming’s Song “Rookie” Eui-jin and FunPlus Phoenix’s Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang.

Knight is this year’s MVP after winning the award by a significant margin, tallying 101 points. He was ahead of JD Gaming jungler Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok with 59 points and mid laner Rookie with 28 points.

Due to his performance this split, he is also among those on the LPL’s first All-Pro Team. Others on the All-Pro Team includes Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok, Kanavi, Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo, and Zuo “LvMao” Ming-Hao.

Knight proved his mettle throughout the regular season by establishing his dominance on the mid lane. During the split, he recorded 211 total kills, 22 solos kills, and a 7.2 KDA. His performance was a significant contribution to the team as he led them to a first-place finish in the standings with a 13-3 record.

During the regular season, Knight played 18 champions – which is more than any player in the league. Syndra, Orianna with which he used six games each, and Sylas for four games were amongst his favourite champions. The MVP in the course of the season also played unorthodox champions like Jayce, Neeko, and Lissandra.

Now that the LPL Summer Split is over, next is the 2020 LPL playoffs, which kick off on August 13 at 4 am CT.

It will feature a best-of-five matchup that will include Victory Five, FunPlus Phoenix, Top Esports, and TES. Knight will be playing on August 21.

The teams will be contending for a spot in the finals.
