The world champions, FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), have shown that they are back in the groove with a convincing 2-0 win over Royal Never Give Up (RNG) in the 2020 LPL Spring Split.

The victory has helped the Chinese League of Legends team to cement their top-three position in the 2020 LPL Spring Split.

The Most Valuable Player of the first game award was picked up by Mid laner Doinb courtesy of a perfect Aatrox game against RNG’s Sylas. Doinb ended the game with no deaths, six kills, and five assists.

Kim “GimGoon” Han-saem picked up the MVP of the second game when he stepped up his game with the use of Aatrox as well.

This is now a five straight win for FPX.  On their road to victory, FPX won with a bloodbath in its jungle. RNG player, Trundle, invaded wolves but got caught swiftly by FPX’s jungler after a call for back-up from his mid and bottom laners.

There was an early team fight as soon as RNG followed shortly by unleashing near the blue buff and succeeded in killing FPX’s ADC. But that single kill led to the loss of three of their members and gave FPX the chance to extend their lead for the remainder of the game and close it out in a clean fashion.

The second game was not as seamless as the first. With signs that it would go to three games, RNG forced a play around the Baron but was unsuccessful, paving way for FPX to claim the game.

FPX started the Spring Split season on a bad note recording two losses against Invictus Gaming and eStar, who are occupying the first and second position on the standings, respectively.

But since then, they upped their game and improved drastically afterward, leading them to a five-game winning streak, and currently tied third in the LPL Spring Split standings.

Next on their plate is what pundits termed easy matches, which is against OMG and BLG scheduled for next week. This will allow them to extend their winning streak with a sight on the second or the first place in the standings.

The matches will be shown on the official LPL broadcast channel.
