A balanced game was expected between the two teams rated as the best CS: GO in the world, but that was not the case.

After losing to Astralis in the ECS Season 8 semifinals 2-1, the North Americans brush past their opponent in the opening round of the Pro League Season 10 finals.

How did the EG succeed in demolishing Fnatic? They took the game to the Brazilians, destroying them on Mirage and won 16-3.

Cvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov was on fine form throughout the whole game, finishing with 23 kills. His kills are more than that of Maikil “Golden” Selim, Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin, and Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson combined.

After bad outings in China, IEM Beijing, and CS: GO Asia Championships last month, with this kind of result, it can give EG an extra dose of confidence for the rest of the tournament.

This means they have recovered from the lackluster performance that took them out of the ECS season eight finals, like Fnatic. Other teams, therefore, need to be wary of North Americans.

Fnatic, on the other hand, could regain their form, but how this would be done is yet to be known. Since acquiring the service of Golden and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist in September, this is their most lopsided defeat. It just like they left to fight another day.

With the tight schedule, the teams couldn’t get enough rest for the match, as fatigue had set in.

With their last encounter in the ECS season eight semifinals last Saturday in Texas, Fnatic flew straight to Odense, Denmark, for the tournament.

Players and Esport owners and players have been complaining about the tight schedule, urging organisers to release calendar of a full year schedule for each team to plan which tournament they want to attend.

Still battling with the tight schedule, the EPL season 10 finals resumes today, and both teams will be in action later in the day as they are set to return to the server.

EG will hope to maintain this winning streak against another tough opponent, 100 Thieves in the Group B upper bracket semifinals. Fnatic, on the other and will play an elimination series against Heroic. Winning the clash will give them the chance to get back into contention.
