Astralis has finally appointed Danish man Peter “casle” Ardenskjold as the permanent coach of its CS:GO, team. The Dane had previously spent two months on an interim basis, but on Tuesday, he was awarded a permanent deal.

While announcing the deal, Astralis stated in a statement that Casle is a talented coach who they believe has the experience to build teams from scratch.

“Peter, who, in addition to being an excellent coaching talent, is extremely strong in building the structure of a team,” Kasper Hvidt, Astralis’ director of sports, said.

The Dane continued from where Martin “trace” Heldt stopped on October 12 after a poor finishing at the European RMR A for IEM Rio Major.

Astralis finished just outside the place to qualify for a major, and it was the first they failed to qualify for a major in their history after finishing 12th to 14th place in the European RMR A for IEM Rio Major.

Since the big miss, Astralis has been rebuilding its team, and Casle is expected to drive the rebuilding process further as the head coach. Meanwhile, he has reassured the Astralis fans that he has one single aim as a coach, which is to return Astralis to the top bracket of Counter-striker and one of the best CS:GO teams in the world.

Already, Astralis has been making big changes to their roster to achieve that aim, with Nicolai “device” Reedtz returning. The 27-year-old rejoined the team on October 27 after staying away from the team for a year due to mental health problems.

Device was the replacement for Asger “farlig” Jensen, but the benching of farlig for Device hasn’t really paid off for the team, as they failed to qualify for IEM Katowice 2023.
