The Toronto Defiant has added Seb “Numlocked” Barton to its tank lineup as a player.

The announcement is less than a week the team announced Numlocked reinforcement as a coach, which was a joke.

The team, via its Twitter page, said its announcement of Numlocked as a coach was greatly exaggerated.

While stating that they are excited to announce his addition into their tank lineup as a player pending League approval, Defiant said it is hoping to rise this year.

Numlocked addition was initially announced as coach by Adam Adamou, co-founder of Defiant parent company Overactive Media in an interview last week, saying he will work with the tanks and be the team’s tank-focused coach.

While teasing that Numlocked might be involved in some games as a player during the interview, Adamou said it would be in the worst case because he still has some playing time.

Adamou further stated that Numlocked could be given the in-game leader role but said nothing is concrete on the team’s plan yet as there was no official announcement.

Numlocked was a player with the Los Angeles Valiant in the Overwatch League’s inaugural season. After leaving the Valiant, he had stints with the British Hurricane, Team Envy, and Defiant academy team Montreal Rebellion that all featured in the Contenders Series with

The pro returned to the league after his stint with the Rebellion, which dropped out of the Contenders Series due to a reduction in budget.

The Defiant, which currently occupies 15th place at 5-9, are having a difficult season. With the addition of Numlocked, they aim to give the team’s tank lineup an overhaul.

According to reports, Numlocked may take over the spot of fellow main tank Adam “Beast” Denton.

It is expected that in the next couple of days, the team will define the role of the pro.
