Team Liquid has published its latest roster for the organization’s 2024 campaign after a disappointing run in the past year. The organization announced a new VALORANT roster on Saturday in hopes of getting better results in 2024.
In the recently released roster, Team Liquid has engaged two familiar faces, Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen and Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, who both are remaining on board, while Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy, James “Mistic” Orfila, and in-game leader Enzo “Enzo” Mestari joins them.
The roster is a combination of veteran stars as well as young up-and-coming players who will aim to break into the upper echelon of Europe and do better than the 2023 VCT EMEA League, which was the only major success they got in the past year.
Liquid raised a lot of expectations after becoming the first team to beat Fnatic during their winning streak of 21 games to grab themselves the regional trophy.
However, that iteration of the roster disappointed Masters Tokyo after losing to both NRG Esports and Evil Geniuses. They also didn’t fare better when they faced
Liquid didn’t fare any better against the best teams in the world at Champions 2023 after their back-to-back losses against Natus Vincere, and LOUD sent them out in the group stage. Furthermore, they left Los Angeles without being able to win a single map, leaving them no choice but to restrengthen the roster in the offseason, and with the additions of Keiko, Mistic, and Enzo, there would be expected development in 2024.
The players added seem strategic, looking at their most recent antecedents. 20-year-old prospect Keiko is joining Liquid after a relatively productive year with Apeks. Veteran controller specialists Mistic and Enzo played at Fanatic in 2022, and that could help their synergy at Liquid, although they are not the best duo currently in the game.
