The League of Legends 2023 World Championship has been ongoing for days now, but someone is not living up to the expectations that many had of him despite registering incredible numbers in presence rate during the Summer Splits.

Yordle marksman, Tristana was visible during the second split of the season and went into the Summer playoffs on form but has been invisible at the League of Legends 2023 World Championship.

Tristana has been picked only five times with only four bans registered, totaling a staggering 13.4 presence rate at the 2023 World Championship. The drop in the preference for her is at such a surprising rate, but maybe the reasons behind that are not far-fetched. Some of the reasons have been faulted on the small but impactful nerfs from Patch 13.16, leaving her advantages less advantageous.

There is also her lack of synergy with meta champions from other roles and lack of influence in teamfights, among others, which has made her less desirable.

There were 83 percent and 82 percent presence rates for Tristana during the Summer Split at LCK and the LPL. It was even higher in the western regions went even higher, boasting a 91.8 percent presence rate in the LCS and 97 percent presence for the LEC.

The four major regions of LPL, LCK, LEC, and LCS held their respective Summer Playoffs and Regional Finals before the base stats nerfs on Tristan. In one of the patches, Patch 13.16, Yordle Gunner saw reductions in her base health, base armor, and base magic resistance. In compensation, the developers bring her armor growth to 4.5 per level, an increase of 0.3.

The champion became more resistant in the late game; she was overall weakened. With the Worlds played on Patch 13.19, the nerfs have been applied, leaving Tristana easier and more susceptible to punishment and kill. Even though she is still being picked, there is a bigger risk of failing with her.
