The recent Y5S1.2 update in Rainbow Six Siege has turned Jäger into a 2-speed, 2-armour operator, while other characters have also been adjusted.

The tweaks have also affected several operators and weapons, which include Buck, Goyo, Mozzie, Ying, M12, and the TCSG12. The update was effected on the live servers yesterday after three weeks on the Test Server.

Intending to create balance and presence for all the picks, the developer noted that as Ying, for instance, has an extra set of tools that would encourage gamers to pick her. The changes made on Jäger, on the other hand, was to reduce the discrepancy between him and other characters. The former attribute has made the GSG9 defender be the most picked.

Before the update, Jager has rooms as a roamer, with a useful gadget and potent weapon which give him the capability to take down unsuspecting enemy players.

According to the Y5S1.2 Designer’s Notes, Jager’s pick rate is over 90 percent in high-rank competitive matches. This stat is twice as high than that of Valkyrie, which is behind him as the second-most picked operator.

The developing outfit, Ubisoft noted that the GSG9 defender’s presence is incomparable. His win delta for a long-time was described as incredible as well. Ubisoft added that the update intended to close the gap between him and other defenders.

The tweak brings about a reduction in Jagar’s speed. This will make the defender play differently; he may adopt a soft-roam strategy or be chosen for the soft role because his gadgets don’t place on time.

Apart from Jäger, Mozzie and Goyo are also part of the operators who were tweaked significantly in the latest patch. Mozzie is now denied access to his Super Shorty shotgun; meaning he won’t be able to manipulate the map again.

According to Ubisoft, the removal of Mozzie’s Super Shorty was aimed at not only removing his ability to remodel bombsites but also to work on his ability to create escape routes on the fly while roaming.

For Goyo, the amount of Volcán Shields he can bring into battle was reduced while Buck saw the removal of frag grenades from his Arsenal. His Skeleton Key, however, got boost to offset the change.
