Nigma Galaxy’s mid-December roster gift for their fans has given an unexpected shock as MinD_ContRoL has officially left the team, parting ways with his captain, who he has been with since 2015.
MinD_ContRoL and KuroKy have been a dominant pair who have been together since 2015 on the 5Jungz stack. The two eventually went on to form the core of Team Liquid’s Dota 2 roster and also won The International in 2017 alongside MATUMBAMAN.
The duo couldn’t win a second TI at T19, but they were together till they left Liquid alongside Miracle- and GH to form Team Nigma—which then metamorphosed into Nigma Galaxy throughout three seasons.
However, Nigma hasn’t been able to replicate the top form they had at Liquid and in four seasons, the team has not made it to TI under the identity and only attended a handful of Major tournaments.
The 2023 campaign was disappointing as they had an unstable roster, with Miracle missing time for health reasons. Nevertheless, they competed with mid-tier teams in the Western European Dota Pro Circuit.
Although Nigma was out of the majority of the tournaments during the season, MC stood in for other rosters like OG at the Berlin Major and DreamLeague Season 21, along with Team SMG at TI12.
With the offlaner’s departure, Nigma is going in a new direction with its roster. MC is the first departure of a former Liquid player since the team formed in November 2019.
The quad of MinD_ContRoL, Kuro, GH, and Miracle- have a 61.3% rate from a record of 610 wins and 384 losses since Jan. 2, 2017. MC announced his exit, reliving his journey with his teammates.
“Indeed, from 5Jungz to Nigma Galaxy, it was one of the best times in my life. But everything has an end. It’s time to say goodbye to my favorite team and people I have ever worked with. Thank you for everything you have done for me.” MC said.
