The new update on the Legend of Runeterra Patch 1.5 will be addressing how incoming nerfs can restore balance to the meta and make the game exciting and playable.

The changes within the game aim to address recent issues raised by players of the metagame that have made them not interested in playing it.

Following the new Season of Fortune release, FAggro LoR decks are on the rise, creeping its power due to recent buffs from the 1.4 patch. Players have not found the game fun anymore with the addition of new mechanics like Nab made with Bilgewater and the Season of Plunder.

Speaking on Tuesday night via Twitter, Live design lead of LoR, Steve Rubin, in his address to the issues said that the team is working to create a balanced meta with Patch 1.5., adding that they are presently focusing more on nerfs than they used to for the next patch.

While noting that addressing power creep that was due to new mechanics, regions, and buff heavy balance changes is important, he is hoping that the team can work more on the efficiency over synergy meta.

With the attempt to revive Epic units and champions that weren’t seeing gameplay, Patch 1.4 was buff heavy, leading to some power creep issues, which the LoR team intends to address with the Patch 1.5 is focusing on nerfs.

Rubin’s response to the power creep concerns is an indication that the LoR team is aware of the playing community’s opinion on how the meta is performing. This also shows that the team is willing to make necessary adjustments as requested.

With the patch scheduled to go live on July 8, there are no further details on which champions, spells, or units will be nerfed in the upcoming Patch 1.5. That patch is scheduled to go into effect on July 8.
