It’s good news for Indian players now as they now have a stake in the Esport arena with the PUBG Mobile Lite Championship (PMLC) 2020 unveiled by Tencent.
The competition has a prize pool of over $6700, and it will feature open qualifiers for Indian players.
The announcement was made in a video that was part of PUBG Mobile’s offline events in the past. However, it is still unclear if the Lite version of the game could involve the Indian players, as well as further details, are still being expected from Tencent.
The developer said that more details would be revealed soon that will answer the questions.
It could be recalled that this is not the first Esports tournament from the stable of the PUGB. PUBG Mobile Lite already has the Battle of the Champions and Champions League, which have very small prize pools.
Tencent had last year August unveiled PUBG Mobile Lite for Android devices, and the game has been developed with the Unreal Engine 4.
To meet the high demands, the developers optimized it to run on low-end mobile devices. With just 600 MB of free storage and 1 GB of RAM to run smoothly.
That’s not all the features of the lighter version. Part of its features is different maps than PUBG Mobile that includes small maps called Varenga and Golden Woods. The game also involves up 60 players battling for the chicken dinner.
In another development on mobile gaming, YouTube Gaming recently announced Celebration of Mobile Gaming tournament. The tournament will start on August 27.
The tournament that will involve seven creators competing in Brawl Stars, PUBG Mobile, and Clash Royale to become the champion has a prize pool of $50,000.
The participants include Clash with Ash, Medalcore, Lex, Orange Juice Gaming, KairosTime, Her Gaming, and Powerbang Gaming.
The winner has the opportunity to donate the prize money to a charity of their choice.
