Heretics’ debut in the LEC scene as an organization over the weekend came with a huge win over Astralis.

Heretics didn’t have it easy, though, after have a close contest from the start to the middle of the game. They needed a late-game Elder Dragon fight to overcome their opponents.

ADC Kobbe was leading Astralis with a fed Xayah until he was blown up by Heretics in the final phase of play which effectively ended Australia’s hopes of a win in their first game of the season.

The game was over in 35 minutes as Heretica began their LEC history with a 1-0 win. The result is a reward for the organization’s frolicking in the free agent market, where they signed top laner Evi and jungler Jankos.

The two are veterans, and they were joined by Peter Dun as head coach after his time in North America with Evil Geniuses. Despite the presence of seasoned veterans, it was a relatively unknown mid laner, Ruby, who impressed the most in his first game at a major region in close to three years. He had a kill participation rate of 79 percent and a 10/3/9 scoreline.

It is not yet Uhuru for Heretics neither is it doom and gloom for Astralis after a single game, but heretics can go on and do great things in the LEC if they can build momentum and continue to win games in this manner. However, it gets tougher with KOI, G2, and Fnatic, all potential opponents for Heretics.

Elsewhere, Fnatic were beaten by Team Vitality in Rekkles return to the LEC at the weekend. Photon and Bo both did great damage as they were up to the task on Jax and Graves while getting 11 of the 16 kills made by Vitality.
