Gaimin Gladiators became the fourth team to win back-to-back Dota 2 Majors after they
showed their prowess in getting a victory over Team Liquid to win their second
consecutive Major title in 2023 after beating Liquid to the Dota 2’s Berlin Major.

Their win at the Lima Major finals, where they beat Team Liquid, also already built up
anticipations for another title-deciding clash. However, unlike in Lima, where Gaiming
Gladiators had it straightforward, it was tougher this time as Team Liquid put in a
tougher performance.

However, despite Liquid’s perceived improved performance, Gaiming Gladiators proved
their mettle and showed why they are defending Major champions.
The balance updates of 7.33 did no harm to their performance, even though it’s less
than a month since the latest patch happened.

Gaiming Gladiators’s pick of Keeper of the Light and Pangolier put them in comfort very
early into the game. Liquid’s Nisha evenly matched Gaiming Gladiators’ Quinn Callahan
in the mid-lane.
Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov remained consistent to help Gaiming Gladiators keep their
lead in the series, which ended in a 3-1 win.

They are now the fourth team to complete two back-to-back Majors in Dota 2, with the
other teams being OG, VP, and PSG.LGD. They are also confirmed to be a part of The
International 2023, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Team Liquid may have fallen short of the Majors, but they have managed to qualify for
the TI12 after their impressive results in the regional Dota Pro Circuit.
Meanwhile, North American League of Legends teams want a major change in
domestic esports with the North American Challengers League (NACL).

All ten LCS owners made a unanimous agreement to make the North American
Challengers League (NACL) completely optional.
This means that teams can choose not to field a Challenger-level team. However, the
time of implementation for this change is unconfirmed yet.
