MAD Lions beat Team BDS to the League of Legends LEC Title on April 23, denying
BDS the chance to become the sixth team to ever win the competition. BDS were on
track and big favourites after a consistent dominant display in the regular season and
playoffs stage.

MAD Lions were underestimated by everyone, especially after MAD Lions lost the first
two games of the series before reclaiming Rift.
Even though BDS were getting close to the title, they made a mistake in stepping into
MAD’s territory after a swift reverse-sweep with Carrzy delivering the second pentakill of
the series.

Even though the win by MAD as they reclaimed the LEC title was surprising to many, it
wasn’t the case for many in the camp of the team, especially as MAD Lions’ coach Mac
never doubted his teammates.

Despite how confident he seemed, MAD Lions were just dropping a game away from
losing the title to the BDS team, but Mac was unwavering in his confidence in his
players and the in-game patterns that they deployed against BDS, which he believed
would be hard for the opponents, to stop.

“All of us kind of knew from very early on that this was our series; I think they’re players
that I would bet my life on them performing in a do-or-die situation in game five. No
team in the LEC has been pushed to the limit as much and as frequently as we have,
and we’ve come back every time. I believe in trying to satisfy the individual needs of
each individual player, whatever those happen to be, and trying to help all of the players
understand each other’s needs and understand how important it is to get the best out of
each other,” Mac said.
