Free Fire reaches 60 million daily active users

Free Fire has hit a new peak of 60 million daily active users.

This was revealed by Sea Limited’s fourth quarter and 2019 full results. According to the owners of Garena, the Battle Royale is the most downloaded and the highest-grossing mobile game in Latin America and Southeast Asia in 2019.

The Singapore-based tech company also revealed that Free Fire recorded success on YouTube, by reaching 30 billion views globally in 2019. With this development, the battle royale has become the fourth most-watched video game and first most-watched mobile-only game on the platform.

O the game’s success in the year under review, Sea Limited noted that its 208-percent revenue increase in digital entertainment is due to the rise of Free Fire as the most important mobile game of the year.

According to gamers, the success of Free Fire in Latin America and Southeast Asia is all down to Garena’s efforts. Garena engages with players at esports events.

The success of the game was visible at the Free Fire World Cup held in Bangkok, Thailand, in early April 2019. It peaked at one million views then.

At the tournament won by  EVOS Capital from Indonesia, but the presence of two Brazilian squads gave Garena more attention in terms of Free Fire‘s growth in South America.

Recall that the Free Fire Pro League had experienced a surprising leap in viewership in Brazil in 2019. The first season of the Pro League, which was held in February 2019, peaked at 19,000 viewers while it was only broadcasted on YouTube.

The third season took place in November 2019. Two Brazilian teams were sent to the Free Fire World Series in Rio de Janeiro, and one million peak viewers were registered, and the tournament was also live on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch. The figure is over a 500-percent increase in less than a year.

Esport fans were also surprised at the success of the Free Fire World Series. In the tournament held in Rio de Janeiro in November 2019, which the winners, Corinthians squad went home with a $400,000 prize pool, its viewership peaked at two million viewers.

As the company continues to push the brand with the aim of making it a global one, Garena’s efforts were noticeable last year. As part of the aim of pushing out the brand, the company launched the BOOYAH! streaming platform last month. The platform is completely focused on Free Fire related content.
