Evil Geniuses are locked in a compromising scenario with their VALORANT championship 2023 roster, as the players will either have to agree to a pay cut to continue with EG or get a team to pay a buyout clause of any player’s contract.

Reports indicated that Evil Geniuses rejected multiple buyout offers for the players on their roster by other organizations, effectively leaving the players inactive under the banner of the organization.

It is a surprising development for a group of players who won the Champions 2023 who have also voiced out their disappointments regarding their treatment by the organization on social media as rumors continue to fly about their next destination, although that now falls on the possibility of a buyout if it is sanctioned by EG.

“I miss old esports. Whereas if you were good, you were on a good team. Where there was something to grind for, and if you did it successfully, you got to reap the benefits. Where winning was everything,” EG Ethan posted on September 11.

The details have now emerged that the contracts of the players do not have a set buyout price, which means that the organization will decide the amount they want for the buyout price.

Already, significant offers for Max “Demon1” Mazanov and Ethan “Ethan” Arnold were denied their buyouts, with each around $100,000. Demon1 is the most frustrated, and it’s possible that he may not stay around at the organization.

100 Thieves’ were set to have planned buyout of Kelden “Boostio” Pupello, but they were also denied, despite the fact that the player has it to leave even prior to the instance of EG pay cuts plans. Nevertheless, the players have contracts running till 2024, putting Evil Geniuses in a total advantage over the players.
