Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin’s relationship with PSG Quest has finally hit rock bottom just four months after it started. Daxak is leaving the team he joined as a coach in September last year.
The four months were nothing short of a disappointment as the team either came in last at tournaments or failed to qualify. The poor returns in terms of results saw the coach publicly criticize his team in the last week, and thus, it doesn’t surprise Dota 2 fans to hear that Daxak has left the team.
In one of the situations where Daxak criticized his former team in a public telegram post, the former coach expressed himself while letting out his disappointment in the team’s showings despite his best efforts.
Daxak subtly stated that he regretted joining PSG and also felt his stint at the club may affect his chances elsewhere in the future.
“Everything I did was aimed at the result of the team, not to mention how much knowledge, emotion, and effort I gave under the conditions I had. Even my last actions were to try to improve the situation, even though I could have just sat there doing my usual impact and watched it all fall apart. I won’t let my reputation (I know it’s messed up) be ruined any further after all I’ve done. It’s not clear about my future because my results and reputation are in the mud =no one will even let me show myself, but I’m still ready to join any normal team to prove in just a couple of hours that I can and know,” Daxak said.
Daxak has been in a similar situation before when he helped HellRaisers qualify for the Lima Major, but HellRaisers decided not to compete with him, although they went on to post a disappointing top-12 finish at the Major.
A similar occurrence happened at Quest, who were achieving good results with a bronze medal at the Bali Major and a USD $500,000 prize money from Riyadh Masters. The addition of Daxak saw them finish last at The International 12 and failed to make it through either the BetBoom Dacha Dubai or DreamLeague Season 22 qualifiers.
