Cloud9, on Monday, April 15, announced that star player electroNic will be leaving the team. ElectroNic is leaving C9 for Virtus.pro just days after the PGL Copenhagen Major.

In their announcement also on Monday, Virtus. pro revealed that the 25-year-old would replace Mir in the CS2 lineup after the latter was relegated to the bench.

“Virtus.pro is a top team. The core of the roster has won a Major not while ago, and all the players are in their prime and ready for victories right now. We share the same ambitions and goals. Besides, I’m also excited about the idea of playing with Jame, as he’s one of the most unique IGLs in the game,” electroNic said in the announcement.

Virtus.pro has not been at its best in recent competitions, failing to replicate its Major-winning triumph at IEM Rio CS:GO Major 2022.

The squad failed to make it to the playoffs of PGL Copenhagen CS2 Major and lost in the quarterfinals of IEM Chengdu 2024 to G2 Esports last weekend. Therefore, the new change may be one that VP needs while C9 will be able to look for a new proper AWPer after playing without one for a long time.

Meanwhile, Gen.G continue to stamp their authority on the local scene, becoming the first LCK team to win four splits in a row, but their sights will be set on the international stage.

The team overcame a pulsating tie with a 3-2 win over T1 in the grand finals of the LCK Spring Split 2024. The win is their fifth LCK Split in total.

T1 will now turn their attention to the MSI 2024’s play-in round, but Gen.G will be in the group-stage seed. Although the new format change means the LCK runner-up will step down to play-in duty, both Gen.G and T1 remain strong title contenders.
