Activision has announced that their first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty will finally be released on mobile devices on October 1 for iOS and Android users.

The mobile game will be the first free-to-play Call of Duty title and its feature will include both a multiplayer and a Battle Royale mode.

The free-to-play mobile game was created by Tencent’s Timi Studio and drew its inspiration from the Call of Duty franchise, and games like Modern Warfare and Black Ops.

In other words, fans can expect Call of Duty: Mobile to be a combination of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Call of Duty: Black Ops series. Many avid Call of Duty fans are also anticipating iconic features and maps to be reintroduced in the mobile game.

It was also announced that numerous popular game modes will be included, like Domination, Team Deathmatch, Search, Destroy and Gun Game. The trailer of the new game also showed iconic maps like Nuketown, Hijacked, and Crash.

In Call of Duty: Mobile, players will also be able to rank up just like the main titles, and will be able to unlock multiple characters from the franchise.

The multiplayer mode will also comprise of primary and secondary weapons, lethal and tactical equipment, a soldier type, an operator skill, and three perks.

The Battle Royale mode in Call of Duty: Mobile, will be similar to that of Black Ops 4, where players can play either Solo, Duo, or Quads. The map terrain will consist of land, sea, and air, which will be traversable by ATVs, helicopters, and tactical rafts. Players can choose to play in either first-person or third-person mode.

It would be recalled that Call of Duty: Mobile was first announced in March, and its public beta was running over the summer in some “select regions.”

Activision vice president of mobile Chris Plummer said in a statement:

“We’ve tested the game extensively in select regions and the response we have received has helped us refine the experience for October 1,”

Call of Duty: Mobile will be available on iOS and Android devices in countries where Google Play and App Store are supported, except for mainland China, Vietnam, and Belgium.
