Beastcoast has announced an all-Peruvian squad to herald their return to Dota 2 after taking a three-month break. Beastcoast announced their return to a competitive scene on Saturday.

The organization has remained in South American Dota but will plans to build and grow with a young roster. On Friday, Beastcoast returned to Dota on Jan. 26 with Yheremi “Payk” Paucar Arroyo, Luis “Lumpy” Villarreal Yausin, Pablo “Vitaly” Angulo, Joel “MoOz” Ozambela, and Anthony “Gardick” López all cladded in the black-and-blue for the 2024 season.

The roster is a combination of youth and experience in the region, with players’ ages ranging from 18 and 26, all preparing for their first game in a fortnight. The same roster in January 2024 swept the open qualifier for BetBoom Dacha Dubai under the tag Bulls, although they exited the competition in fifth after losing to BOOM Esports.

Some of the players on the team that fans may recognize so well are the team captain and support Gardick, who was part of a Hokori team that made playoffs of The International in 2021, as well as MoOz, who is making a return to Beastcoast after a stint with the org back in 2019 and 2020.

The team has the quality shown in certain previous performances, but the consistency to keep Beastcoast afloat is what many fear. In 2021 and 2022, Héctor “K1” Rodríguez and Jean Pierre “Chris Luck” Salazar led the team to achieve South America’s best finish at The International 2022.

However, afterward, it was a downturn trend for the team after a handful of roster moves, leading to a poor finish at TI12 for the squad and a disbandment.

Beastcoast first appearance may likely be at Games of the Future 2024 before taking on Qhali in the ESL One Birmingham 2024 SA closed qualifier.
