Danish organization Astralis has announced Casper “ruggah” Due as an addition to its coaching staff. Ruggah will combine his wealth of experience working both as a player and coach with organizations such as OG, OpTic Gaming, and Danish North.

His dynamism will help the future of Astralis’ first team in the esports landscape. The 35-year-old Danish coach’s reign at Astralis will officially start on April 1, 2024, once his current contract with OG expires.

Ruggah doesn’t just have longevity but also experience and success in guiding teams. With OG, he secured victories in tournaments like SteelSeries Invitational, Spring Sweet Spring #2, and Teleperformance PXP Invitational.

Astralis’ Sports Director Kasper Straube, while expressing his satisfaction in the agreement that brought in ruggah, he also emphasized ruggah’s prowess as both a skilled coach and a personality. He reiterated that both qualities align with the dreams and objectives that they hope to achieve at Astralis.

Meanwhile, the current assistant coach Mathias “R0nic” Pinholt will be in charge of the team until ruggah officially takes charge on April 1, 2024. Pinholt has been involved with Astralis in various capacities in previous times. However, Ruggah’s first tournament as

Astralis’ coach is expected to be the IEM Chengdu 2024.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Astralis considered alternative coaching options and that Ruggah was not Astralis’ initial choice. The organization’s initial first choice was the former coach of Heroic Richard “Xizt” Landström. Unfortunately, Xizt and Astralis couldn’t agree on negotiations, forcing Astralis to secure the services of Ruggah.

The team will continue to prepare for the IEM Chengdu 2024 under ruggah’s guidance with hopes for a new chapter in Astralis’ storied history.

The updated roster, with this addition, is now:

Benjamin “blameF” Bremer

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz

Victor “Staehr” Staehr

Martin “stavn” Lund

Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard

Casper “ruggah” Due (Head coach)

Mathias “R0nic” Pinholt (Assistant Coach)
