It was a battle of “frenemies” when 00 Nation and Imperial faced each other in the Americas Regional Major Ranking (RMR). Coldzera, TACO, FalleN, fer, and fnx were ex-teammates at Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming.

The clash between both teams was dubbed the last Clasico and lived up to its billing as Imperial needed a win, but they fell to a 16-11 defeat and must win their final game of the three series if they want to qualify for IEM Rio Major.

It will be a big blow if the biggest Counter- strike player in Brazil, FalleN, doesn’t get past the Americas Regional Major Ranking (RMR). At the start of the best-of-one match, led by FalleN, Imperial started the game strongly, winning the first half 10-5.

The moment the FalleN and crew switched for the Terrorist crew, 00 Nation became the better side and dominated winning by 16-11 as Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer ended the series as the best player recording 27 Frags and 18 deaths.

Imperial now falls into the 1-2 pool, where they will get no second chance if they lose, while 00 Nation steps up into the 2-1 pool, and a win in their next game will send them to the IEM Rio Major.

Elsewhere, G2 cannot also afford to lose their next game in the European RMR after they dropped into the 1-2 bracket and could miss the major.

G2 eSports, who are one of the favorites, were beaten in an upset by 1WIN from Russia 16-11, and they are close to failing to qualify for the IEM CS: GO Rio Major 2022.

Meanwhile, underdogs 1WIN are just one win away from getting an unprecedented ticket to the IEM CS: GO Rio Major 2022. G2, on the other hand, will join other teams in the 1-2 bracket that lost their best-of-ones earlier on Thursday. The teams in the 1-2 bracket include Fnatic and Astralis.
