Monday’s show match between Sentinels and Moist has given Sentinels fans a lot to worry about for the upcoming year. Just midway into only the first match of the preseason of the 2024 VALORANT Champions Tour campaign, Sentinels fans collapsed midmatch.Sentinels are the most talked about and scrutinized by the VCT Americas team.
They took on Moist x Shopify in a best-of-three, as Ludwig and Tarik, the org representatives and steaming stars, watched the series. Sentinels dominated map one and won on Bind, but Ascent and Haven didn’t go well for Sentinels as things fell apart, resulting in a one-vs-three clutch for MxS’ brawk.Although Haven didn’t go the way of Sentinels, Tenz took the flex role seriously and did well on the controller as he led his team in kills and assists. His flex role has been great, and he has been able to combine it with his agent pool, which was a plus for Sentinels, enabling them to run the famed Harbor-Viper comp on Haven.
In a recent interview, TenZ addressed his transition from the entry role, stating that his playing style is more suited to flash initiators and supports. He also revealed that playing Jett so much early in his career, put him on the wrong path, but his new agent pool will help his creativity.Meanwhile, Moist x Shopify roster could capitalize on the victory to take on the Challengers season strongly, especially as a result comes after hanging with Cloud9 in an earlier show match;
MxS could have won the game if the in-game disruption hadn’t happen.New Sentinels in-game leader Mouhamed “johnqt” Ouarid admitted that Sentinels had a lot of stuff to fix after a game he said was fun and enjoyable. There are still a lot of preseason opponents that Sentinels will face in the coming weeks, with a match against new VCT Americas opponent G2 on Thursday, 26 October.
