After finishing fourth at the Spring Split, Evil Geniuses have started their rebuilding process in order to prepare well for the next targets in the LCS. Evil Geniuses revealed on Wednesday via social media that they will be letting head coach Aleš “Freeze” Kněžínek and assistant coach Albert “H4xDefender” Ong go.

H4xDefender incidentally just joined the organization before the beginning of the 2023 Spring Split. He becomes part of a rebuilding that Evil Geniuses hinted to their fans in a letter where they stated that there were going to be some roster changes.

However, H4xDefender is not going to be the only victim of the “rebuilding” process, as the whole LCS roster could be changed as well.

For Freeze, he’s been around longer than H4xDefender, as he joined EG after they missed the opportunity to win a second consecutive title last year. Coincidentally, four coaches left after the miss and were replaced before the start of this year’s Spring Split, but he wasn’t part of those who left.

The former 100Thieves assistant coach, where he won the organization’s maiden LCS title in his two-year stay, released a statement after his departure was confirmed.

“Was really excited to fulfill my 2-year contract. Sometimes journey stops earlier than it is meant to be. Specific circumstances can always happen in orgs.” Freeze said

H4xDefender spent seven years of his career as a jungler in the LCS and afterward became an assistant coach at Team Liquid and Team Liquid, and Team Liquid Academy.

He, on his part, stated that while he was disappointed to be splitting with the team, he was grateful for what he contributed to EG.

Meanwhile, Evil Geniuses are yet to specify where the next change to their LCS roster will come from, but more detail should be made public as the Summer Split draws closer.
