2021 LCK Spring Split: DWG KIA outsmarts Gen.G with reverse sweep victory

DWG KIA on Wednesday outsmarted Gen.G by a reverse sweep in the third week of the ongoing 2021 LCK Spring Split.

This has been rated as one of the best matches of the tournament. The surprise package was DK, who impressed with a tactic to control the Udyr pick. The pick has been running wild for the past couple of weeks in the LCK, dislodging every opposition.

Khan got rewarded with the first MVP for his Gnar. He won his lane and provided valuable crowd-control in teamfights. This made him the pillar of DK’s composition. Due to his engagement ability, his team was able to get easy kills on the opponents.

Canyon took home the second MVP for his wonderful display of skill on Udyr. He showed everyone what his pick is made of after shutting down Gen.G’s Udyr in the second game, finishing the game in the proper hands with a KDA of 1/1/11 and 80 percent kill participation.

Due to their antecedents, the game was hyped up. This is because they have been showing great individual performances complemented with good teamfighting skills over the past couple of matches.

It took Gen.G 52 minutes to win the first game after taking the lead with four thousand gold. Despite this Gen.G got the edge over them in teamfights with their composition.

They eventually won the game on the back off Rakan’s engages, after cleaning up DK in a crucial teamfight in the later stages of the game.

Coming into the second game,  DK modified its draft completely leaving only the Gnar in the top lane. They had to ban out the Quinn, as they pick posed a huge problem for them in the first game.

Khan utilised unchained on Gnar to dominate his opponent. He then applied his Teleport to roam around the map, which built a huge lead for DK from the early-game. DK extended their lead after all lanes were ahead to equalize the series of a Baron play.

As a form of retaliation, Gen.G also went ahead to ban out Gnar in the third game. Despite that, they weren’t able to secure the needed victory against their opponent.

Canyon, who picked Udyr control the pace of the game by constantly ganking Gen.G members. With his lead, he was able to secure neutral objectives.

It took them just 19 minutes to take down the inhibitor. With their gold lead, DK built an item advantage and complete the reverse sweep to win the game.

DK which has a 4-1 record in the ongoing split is now occupying the second place in the 2021 LCK Spring Split.

They will be facing Hanwha Life Esports on Friday, January 29.

HLE is currently being lead by Chovy and Deft, and they are on top of the standings.
