The 2019 Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) will be hosted in Thailand this November.

The mobile esports competition, which co-hosted by Garena and Tencent, will welcome 12 of the best Arena of Valor (AoV) teams from all over the world to jostle for a share of the huge $500,000 prize pool.

The esports tournament began back in 2018 and was organized by Sea Limited’s digital entertainment unit, Garena and China’s Tencent Holdings.

The twelve teams that will participate in the 2019 Arena of Valor International Championship will be decided through regional tournaments. The regional tournaments will take place across nine divisions. These divisions are listed below:

Garena Challenger Series (GCS)

RPL (Thailand Professional League)

AOG (Vietnamese Professional League)

ASL (Indonesian Professional League)

New Mafia (Singapore/Malaysia/Philippine League)

South Korea

Europe

China

Japan.

Each of the twelve regions will send one team to the competition in Thailand. However, the RPL, AOG and GCS divisions will send two each.

More details concerning the regional tournaments that will take place in South Korea, Europe, China, and Japan will be released soon.

Arena of Valor Prize Pool

The overall winner of the Arena of Valor Championship 2019 will go home with $200,000, while the runners-up will walk away with $110,000. The teams in third and fourth-place positions will each equally get $50,000, while the remaining teams who finish between fifth and eighth position will receive $16,000. The MVP of the tournament will receive an extra $10,000.

The AIC 2019 will feature an all-new 1v1 matchup as well. One player from each team will compete in this with the winner and will receive $5,000. Additional details concerning this new feature will be explained as the tournament draws near.

J Team won the AIC 2018, with Team Flash and ahq e-Sports Club coming in as second and third place respectively. Taiwanese player, Chun-Sheng “Neil” Chang, who currently playing for MAD Team also won the MVP at the 2018 AIC.

There will be a live broadcast of the group draws for the AIC 2019 immediately after the finals of the Arena of Glory (AOG) professional league in Vietnam on Oct. 12.
