One of the latest players to join Team Vitality’s Counter-Strike 2 roster, British player Mezii, has revealed that the roster’s French in-game leader is one of the best of the bunch.
Apex is a 31-year-old veteran who has two CS:GO trophies to his name, plus a plethora of other esports competitions, and in CS2, he’s already won two BLAST with Vitality.
Apex has also won multiple tier-one trophies, and the titles are not exactly the reason Mezii rates him high, but his game-reading abilities and the way he reads his opposition.
“I think apEX is a superintelligent player inside the game, and he reads opponents really well. He focuses on that to be able to make pretty simple calls. I wouldn’t say we’re coming into these games, all these maps with all these extravagant like ideas and have loads of different executions and strategies. He realizes you don’t need to do a mostly well-executed plan to win the round if you know what the opponents are going to do,” Mezii said.
Mezii furthermore emphasized how ApEX rubbed off on the rest of his teammates, teaching them how to perform as a unit rather than as single individuals. He also made them understand the needed basics to win games without making things complex.
The positive effect has been visible at Vitality, with the European roster making the semifinals of the PGL Copenhagen CS2 Major before ultimately falling to FaZe Clan.
Although they underperformed at IEM Katowice, the team went on to win the BLAST Premier Fall and the World Finals in 2023.
Meanwhile, currently, team Vitality is in action at EPL Season 19 in Malta, but there is still a lot of action for Mezii, apEX, and the rest of the crew coming up in the next two months at IEM Dallas, the BLAST Premier Spring Final, and the Esports World Cup.
