After a more disappointing year 9, where they have struggled to impress, Virtus. pro has managed to qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal via the third-place match. Virtus.pro defeated Wolves Esports in Europe’s third-place decider match to seal the spot.
Virtus.pro has missed different competitions and also posted poor results starting in eighth place in their first competition of year 9, the first split of Europe League 2024.
It was a sharp contrast to how they ended Year 8 where they finished Top 3 finish at the Six Invitational 2024. Rather than improve, the team missed the Esports World Cup. Eventual winners, Team BDS, were the culprits responsible for their absence.
The second split of the Europe League 2024 has largely remained the same for the Russian side as they only managed to scrape to the playoffs thanks to a 4-7 defeat against WYLDE, which was followed by an advantageous 5-7 Fnatic loss against Team BDS.
However, the team has improved its performance since the playoffs started. The team secured a 2-0 win over G2 Esports before losing 0-2 to Team Secret.
The Russians have now sealed the region’s third spot and qualified for Montreal with a 2-1 win over Wolves Esports. The win also keeps the Bears’ hopes of qualifying for the Six Invitational 2025 alive.
However, the team has 210 SI Points and are situated in 25th place on the Global Standings, and they could be slotted into the top 16 after a great performance in Montreal’s Swiss Stage.
Meanwhile, Boston, Massachusetts, will welcome the hammer of The Six Invitational 2025. Twenty of the best Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege teams will be in the United States, hoping to be crowned as the world champions.
The venue for the event is the MGM Music Hall, a 5,000-capacity music event center at Fenway Park, Boston. Of the twenty expected teams, six have secured their places: Cloud9 Beastcoast, Team BDS, DarkZero Esports, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, and Team Secret.
