The Vegas Legion franchise has announced that it is officially leaving the Call of Duty League and will be replaced by Team Falcons in the 2024 CDL. The organization made this public on Wednesday while also revealing some other key details which includes the change in name to Vegas Falcons and an all Saudi Arabian players roster that will include Roxas, Exnid, KingAbody, and KHHX.

Earlier in the week, reports had filtered of the potential acquisition of Vegas Legion’s CDL spot by Team Falcons. Falcons’ last event was the CoD: MW3 at the esports World Cup that ran between August 15 and 18 where they could only secure a top-16 placing at the 16-team event.

The team lost twice to a Challengers team, Lore Gaming, who were led by two-time world champion Arcitys, and also to eventual champions Atlanta FaZe. Falcons’ coach LewTee stated that the players have improved in the last two years and are happy to take the opportunity to move the team project to another level.

“The boys have improved massively these last two years and have showed they are capable of achieving more. We’re aware that this new challenge will not be easy, and many will doubt us, but with hard work and an entire region behind us, I trust that the boys can achieve great things. Proud of you all and honored to be a part of your journey. See you in the CDL.” Falcons coach LewTee said.

Meanwhile, the Legion franchise was not consistent in the CDL either while representing Paris or Vega. In the 2022 CDL season, the Paris Legion ended the season in last place with an overall record of 2-23.

They went on a rebranding and came back as the Vegas Legion, but the team missed the CoD champs in the last two years after consistent ninth-place finishes. Last two years, missing out on CoD Champs in both seasons.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that more teams will enter the CDL as Fnatic and Gen.G are poised to replace the Carolina Royal Ravens and Los Angeles Guerrillas.
