Sentinels have replaced VALORANT head coach Don “SyykoNT” Muir with Adam “kaplan” Kaplan midway through VCT 2023: Americas League. Adam “Kaplan” Kaplan hopes to change the fortunes of Sentinels, who have endured a poor start.

Rob Moore, who is the CEO of Sentinels, revealed this on Sunday on Twitter, stating that it was a difficult decision to let SyykoNT go but that Kaplan will take charge of the VALORANT roster immediately.

We have come to the difficult decision to part ways with Don @SyykoNT Muir. Adam @itskaplan Kaplan will be stepping in as head coach effective immediately.

Meanwhile, the CEO didn’t state the reason behind the managerial change, but there are beliefs that the discouraging results are likely the major reason.

SykkoNT said he had plans to make Sentinels a VALORANT super-team when he took charge in October last year. However, the reverse was the case, as the team could only muster two wins in seven matches played. In total, the team has two wins from their last 15, while they only managed to win seven maps in 34 tries.

SyykoNT was previously with XSET as head coach of their VALORANT roster for two years and helped them to 5-6 in the 2022 VALORANT Champions, XSET’s highest ranking ever.

SykkoNT’s replacement Kaplan has been in an assistant capacity for Sentinels since October 2022, when he joined the roster alongside the departing head coach.

Furthermore, kaplan plied his trade with several lower-tiered VALORANT squads, with Ghost Gaming the most prominent of them, while he also spent time at Spacestation Gaming and Ghostbusters.

Sentinels may look done with VCT 2023: Americas League, but there is a slim hope that things could change in their performances under Kaplan with their next game coming up on April 21 this weekend.
