IEM Cologne 2024 continued to live up to the hype as one of the biggest CS2 tournaments of 2024, as it concluded over the weekend with semi-finals and finals. On Saturday, two semi-final games were concluded as SAW faced Vitality while NAVI and MOUZ went head to head for the final tickets and a chance to take a huge chunk of the prize money.

Starting with the Cinderella runner of the competition, SAW’s luck in the competition ran out with their clash against Vitality following their win against FaZe on Friday. The Portuguese team had already done remarkably enough to make the IEM Cologne 2024 Semi-Finals.

However, there was a visible gulf in class between SAW and Vitality, and the latter wasted no time with a 2:0 series win, with 13:6 and 13:5 maps scores. From Nuke to Dust 2, SAW had a tough time, and they were well-dusted by the time the game got to Dust 2.

Vitality’s players were on point as ZywOo was decent in this series, particularly on Dust 2 and veteran IGL apEX arguably Vitality’s best player. ApEX rolled back the years with his performance in Vitality’s 36:14 series win. This is the third time he will be getting to the Cologne final after two previous separate occasions, in 2015 and 2019 although he lost both times.

MOUZ poor start to their IEM Cologne 2024 Semi-Finals was their downfall as NAVI took them down 2:0, in a series that was almost one-sided. On Inferno map one, NAVI was almost flawless in their victory until MOUZ mounted a late comeback which was not enough anyway.

The final of the IEM Cologne was played late on Sunday between NAVI and Vitality and the events of the match will be described in our subsequent publications.

Meanwhile, the Esports World Cup 2024 is about to end, but Team Falcons have secured the win in the tournament’s overall Club Championship. This means that overall, Falcons are crowned the winning organization of the EWC 2024.
