Game developer Riot Games has been unable to balance Yuumi’s ability to pump out surprising amounts of damage while also providing a ton of great utility to her team during skirmishes and team fights.

After deciding to shift the Magical Cat’s so that Yuumi will be more of enchanter support in Patch 9.24, Riot said they are encouraging her to be the enchanter she was meant to be. This will be achieved by buffing her supportive capabilities at the cost of damage.

This means the cat, which has been everyone’s favourite, will now be more of a utility support champion.

The developers further explained that to be able to have access to all her power, Yuumi has to sit on squishier champions instead of being an unforgettable damage source that is on top of “an already unkillable champion, like Garen.”

The first notable modification is Yuumi’s Q damage ratio. It has been reduced by 0.1 for both the normal Prowling Projectile. This means as the empowered version’s base damage is getting increased; the AP damage ratio is reducing. The increase and decrease will now go from 50/85/120/155/190/225 plus 0.65 ability power to 50/95/140/185/230/275 plus 0.4 ability power.

Riot Games also revealed that the mana cost for the ability has been increased by 10 mana at each level, while the missile duration got reduced by a second.

These modifications have therefore made Yuumi, which is unattached to be more dangerous than ever before. The three new changes made by Riot has aided her interactions alongside her allies on the Summoner’s Rift.

Unattached Yuumi, for instance, now boasts of a 0.25 second channel time in her W ability before attaching to an Anchor from an independent state.

Also, when attached, Yuumi doesn’t travel with a teleporting ally, and immobilizing her will put her W ability on cooldown for five seconds. So, this makes things a lot more unsafe for her whenever she isn’t connected to her Anchor.

In Patch 9.24, some significant adjustments have been made in Zoomies. With the ability lacking charges, it will no longer give an increased heal if her ally is at low health.

The Zoomies will instead grant her or her Anchor 25/30/35/40/45 percent attack speed while giving a flat heal of 70/110/150/190/230 health, plus 0.3 ability power, based on level.
