Ninjas in Pyjamas have been forced to make another change to their roster just games into the spring 2023 CS:GO season with Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke joining. This comes after Hampus “hampus” Poser opted out of the team’s Spring season totally.

Hampus “hampus” Poser cited health problems as his reason for the extended break he has taken. Hampus’s break is backed fully by NiP after consultations with the organization’s performance director and medical professionals.

Danish veteran Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke joined NiP on a long-term and now fills the fifth spot on the roster will debut for NiP on February 1 at the IEM Katowice play-in. K0nfig was with Complexity in 2021 before joining Astralis and then left Astralis controversially after a fight in Malta that injured him before another clash at IEM Cologne.

He stood in briefly at Heroic last year at the BLAST World Final and was almost doing the same at FaZe at the BLAST Spring Groups but was denied joining them as he was already registered with another team.

Meanwhile, NiP COO Jonas Gunderson believes that k0nfig brings a silver patch to the unprecedented exit of hampus. He also believes he will add more to the team.

“We just started the season and are still getting headtr1ck introduced, and k0nfig is a great player who fits the team well.” Jonas Gunderson.

This is not the first time that NiP will be in this situation as in 2021, the team signed AWPer Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz only for the player to go for an extended medical break that run throughout 2022.

Elsewhere in Apex Legends, TSM have brought in Mikkel “Mande” Hestbek as their streamer to bolster their content creation as an organization.

Mande will be their only European streamer, but he was EMEA ALGS Championship winner in 2021 with SCARZ in Apex Legends.
