The IEM Cologne 2024 Group stage is moving towards its end and as the conclusion gets closer, so do some teams who have hitherto failed to secure their places at LANXESS Arena Playoffs managed to do so on Monday.

Two more teams managed to seal their spots on the most recent matchday as one of the highest-ranked teams on the IEM Cologne power rankings met expectations by making the Playoffs. MOUZ lived up to the billing against Complexity with a 2:0 scoreline.

While the scoreline may have suggested a straightforward win for MOUZ, it didn’t show the gallant efforts of Complexity who put up a good fight but MOUZ was able to move through with some individual brilliance.

MOUZ’s young roster which had Jimpphat, Brollan, and Torzsi was outstanding across the two maps. Complexity couldn’t consolidate on the individual performances of EliGE and when he fails to perform, the team gets punished.

Meanwhile, Vitality did an impressive reverse to defeat FaZe. The game was set for a 2:0 finish in favor of FaZe with just one round remaining but Vitality managed to force the second map into overtime in an impressive reverse sweep. Vitality secured a place in the LANXESS Arena with a 2:1 series win after hard-fighting efforts in every round.

G2 may have knocked out Team Spirits, one of the tournament favorites, on Sunday, but that didn’t stop them from facing a tough team in Astralis. G2 put up the fight in the lower bracket match that ended a 2:1 series where they also registered a 13:1 win on Dust 2, one of the best-played maps from the new G2 lineup to date.
