The CS:GO community was stunned on Wednesday when MOUZ benched German-Portuguese CS:GO rifler Jon “JDC” de Castro. This is a significant roster change that nobody expected, as a lot saw him as a potential key player for the organization as the CS2 release approaches.

There are reports that 16-year-old Finnish prospect Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo will be promoted from the MOUZ academy team to replace JDC. The reports are held highly by CS:GO fans who have been taken the organizational trends since 2022 when they started making use of its academy division 2022 by promoting Torzsi, JDC, Dorian “xertioN” Berman, and head coach Dennis “cyclone” Nielsen to the main team.

JDC also went through MOUZ’s NXT academy when he joined the German organization in 2021 by signing a contract. The 23-year-old won four WePlay Academy League titles in MOUZ NXT before joining MOUZ’s starting lineup in March 2022. However, the furthest JDC has done for MOUZ is reach the semifinals of the IEM Rio Major in November 2022, and never won a tier-one trophy with them.

Furthermore, since getting promoted to the main team, JDC has been disappointing individually, averaging a subpar 0.99 rating in his time with the first team, and the player himself admitted his poor performances in a statement after he was benched.

“I’m unsatisfied with my own individual showing during the period in MOUZ, even though I had some solid tournaments and finished off on a good note in [IEM] Dallas. I am extremely motivated to show my skills in a new environment and allowed to talk to teams.” JDC said.

MOUZ is making key roster changes and signings as they are reported to be chasing another benched star AWPer degster to replace Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás, and in-game leader Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek to replace veteran Australian captain Christopher “dexter” Nong.

Irrespective, the organization will need to put its roster in order for the release of CS2 and the second half of the season, starting with IEM Cologne’s Play-In stage on July 25.
