The lineup for the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP), the newly formed regional league for Asia-Pacific, has been revealed by Riot Games. LCP 2025 will see the LCP mix teams that were in separate leagues from Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Oceania in one competition, with the teams selected by Riot Games based on a series of criteria.

There will be four Partner teams in the 2025 LCP line up which are CTBC Flying Oyster, Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming, GAM Esports, and PSG Talon while the likes of Chiefs Esports Club, DetonatioN FocusMe, Team Whales, and Vikings Esports are the four teams that have received a temporary guest slot.

The teams’ competitive track record, legacy, fandom, as well as innovative visions for the future are some of the factors considered before they were invited. The whole roster is now made up of three VCS, two PCS, two LJL, and one LCO team.

The new partnership model as brought up by Riot Games will see a system where there will be a promotion and relegation system. At the end of each season, the guest teams will defend their slots based on their competitive performance going up against the highest-placed teams from domestic leagues within the Asia-Pacific ecosystem.

Meanwhile, teams who have not been invited for 2025 could still be invited and the invitations will not be limited to the existing domestic leagues, leaving teams from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia with the possibilities of joining the league.

There will also be three splits in the 2025 season as is the case in the Riot Games’ major regions, including the LEC (EMEA), LCK (Korea), and the new Americas league. However, the splits will be tagged the Season Kickoff, Mid-Season, and Season Finals in the LCP.

Teams will have the opportunity to qualify for a different international tournament. There will also be a Season Finals, that will give opportunity for three qualifications slots for the Worlds 2025.
