MIBR has just shaken the Counter-Strike 2 scene and indirectly hinted at a revival of the Brazilian CS after the squad won their first offline trophy after exiting the North American region.

MIBR became the second team from South America to win ESL Challenger Melbourne after a similar feat by their compatriots paiN last weekend. The roster was led by Insani, who posted a 1.51 HLTV rating across the nine maps to the trophy before claiming the tournament MVP title by a landslide.

The 20-year-old has been a huge part of MIBR’s good story this year on the server and creating a profile as Brazil’s best CS2 team in terms of form. He revealed that one of the secrets to the success was the big decision they made in August 2023, saying that they had outgrown the region and needed better competition and practice to become better.

“We kind of gave up on North America. All the teams that moved back to Brazil are playing very good now: The Brazilian scene and the South American region have improved a lot since every team is going to practice there. Our region is getting back up, and we are all getting better. We had changes as to how we look at and approach CS, mainly CS2—there are a lot of differences—so I think we got on the right path and focused on the right things to be a better team,” Insani said.

MIBR now spends time between Europe and Brazil, which has been productive for the Brazilian scene, which is making a resurgence, considering the performances of representatives at the PGL Copenhagen Major with paiN and Imperial.
