Cloud9 rifler Abai “HObbit” Hasenov has blamed Cloud9’s recent woes and underperformance in CS:GO in the last few months on the in-experience of his former teammate Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov, who was the team’s in-game leader.
The organization has made a huge roster change ahead of the global release of CS2, but this has not stopped Hobbit from blaming his former teammate for the disappointing results, saying he believes Nafany didn’t have enough experience to be an in-game leader and hitting on it that it is the reason they didn’t get to their full potential.
“In my personal opinion, the problem with the previous roster is that we didn’t have such an experienced caller as in many tier-1 teams – safety. Because of this, many problems arose,” HObbit said.
Nafany has long been replaced by electronic as the in-game leader of Cloud9, and he seems to have moved on from C9 by choosing not to respond to the criticism of Hobbit and risk revealing the dynamics of the relationship in the team. He revealed that revealing such could lead to flaming a war.
He went on to wish electroNic and Perfecto all the very best of the time of C9, a reaction that has been greeted with mixed reaction in the CS:GO community as some fans don’t think Nafany is the main issue of C9’s former roster, but think Hobbit is overbearing fanny.
Some others believed that IGL’s style wasn’t best for leading talented players like Ax1le and sh1ro. Electronic joined C9 from Natus Vincere after spending close to six years with them and now leads the team’s calls. In the past year, C9 failed to qualify for BLAST.tv Paris CS:GO Major winning just one LAN tournament, IEM Dallas 2022.
Meanwhile, the IEM Cologne is still currently underway, with m0NESY, ZywOo, and dev1ce dominating as individual players.
