Team Heretics is making some significant changes to its League of Legends roster just before the new season begins after a poor 2024 Winter Split. The changes were announced late Tuesday, with veteran star Perkz swapped with rookie Zwyroo in their LEC lineup.

The team’s coaching staff also announced former Fnatic support star Trymbi was picked over Kaiser in the bottom lane ahead of the Spring Split, which begins on Saturday, March 9.

Heretics were inconsistent on the Summoner’s Rift throughout the Winter Split, as they finished the regular season with a 4-5 record. They missed out of the playoff after losing back-to-back series vs. Team BDS and SK Gaming.

These results forced the management into some tough decisions for the sake of the organization’s future. This was explained by Heretics’ co-founder Arnau Vidal, who revealed that players and staff appreciated Perkz’s efforts but also believed there was “no improvement in the dynamic of the team” heading into the new split.

After this conclusion was reached after a number of scrims, the management was forced to step in and make the swap. Meanwhile, there are a lot of expectations on Zwyroo as he is replacing one of the best mid-laners in the game in European history and is also expected to push the rest of the players” to new heights.

Coach Alvar “Araneae” Martín Aleñar revealed that the 25-year-old has been encouraging his teammates throughout their practice runs after a couple of scrims.

Trymbi is returning on the back of a season-long break he took, and he would be a great boost of leadership for this team on the big stage after his experience with Rogue and Fnatic. He and the rest of the squad al, alongside Zwyroo, will try to help Heretics bring back the hype for their LEC run.
