The three teams left in the LEC Season finals have all locked their spots at Worlds, but only two can fight for the top prize at the LEC Season final, of which only one of the finalists has been unveiled.

Fnatic (FNC) has already sealed its spot in the final and is awaiting the winner of the fixture between G2 esports and MAD Lions KOI (MDK). The fixture between G2 and MDK in the lower bracket of the LEC Season Finals is a repeat of the first fixture that happened in the losers’ bracket.

MDK has already breached the predictions of many who didn’t fancy them as a strong team to be in the Season Finals, and their beliefs are valid due to MDK’s poor performances in the previous two splits.

However, in esports, just like every other sport, upsets are allowed, and MDK upset the strongest team in the league, G2. The performance of the G2 team didn’t meet the expectations in comparison to their game against Team BDS.

Meanwhile, MDK dragged FNC to game five in an earlier game, but it was obvious that MDK’s decision-making was poor while FNC was decisive and always caught the enemy off guard with flank teleports and fight initiations.

MDK’s proactivity, especially in the early parts of the game, is one of their main strength, thanks to Myrwn and Elyoya. Levering his champion pool in the top lane helps MDK gain control of the top side of the map while gaining more objectives in the mid-game.

That will be an important feature that MDK must stay true to if they want to be defeated by G2. G2’s Yike and BrokenBlade must be able to find a way to neutralize MDK’s secret formula, maybe by draft or smart pathing. Alternatively, they could force Supa away from making his comfort picks (Ezreal, Zeri) while getting to him through the bot lane.
