The Fortnite Champion series will get a new format in the new 2025 season for competitive players after Epic Games revealed the changes they made to the league. The big change is that the 2025 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) will be played in a trio format, which is a major difference from the normal duo format in the FNCS tournaments previously.
The trio format isn’t exactly a new format as this is just a reintroduction of the format in the Fortnite Championship Series 2025. This trio format is expected to affect and spring forth new team dynamics to make the tournament exciting and improve the competition.
The new format will also introduce complex strategies and increase team coordination during gameplay. Epic Games has also modified the qualification process for the FNCS 2025. There is a more streamlined path for established pros, but rising talents will also have opportunities to shine
FNCS Trial tournament performances will be used to put players into different divisions, making the qualification process more efficient, especially for the top-performing players. Meanwhile, regions will share $8 million after Epic Games boosted their prize pool for 2025.
Epic Games Fortnite Championship Series 2025 will see three major events across year 2025. They will be in a multi-stage format, which will be: Play-In Stage, Group Stage, Last Chance Qualifier, and Finals. Meanwhile, the dates of the three major events under the Fortnite Championship Series have been confirmed.
