North American organization Team Liquid was one of the several organizations that made roster changes during the recent Counter-Strike 2 summer player break. However, one of the members of that rejig that saw two players and a new coach join the team has laid some criticisms alongside a former player who was previously a member of the roster.
Liquid’s changes were by far the most prominent of all the teams that made changes to their CS2 squad as the organization released skullz and benched its in-game leader, cadiaN.
Skullz went ahead to join FURIA while the former coach zews was dropped as the main coach, and the organization brought in former MOUZ and Apeks’ mithR to replace him in the North American squad.
Expectations were high on the former star-studded roster, but Zews and Twistzz shed light on what was happening while the roster was together. The two players had separate sessions to say that things were not working inside or outside the game as there was no chemistry or synergy.
Twistzz also further explained that it would be difficult to play the game without synergy and chemistry, although the Canadian shielded away the bigger details but insisted that the roster was not organized.
However, Zews was able to flesh out the bigger details as he’s no longer with the organization. The Brazilian coach revealed that his blueprint for the team was frustrated because Team Liquid failed to qualify for the Major. He also explained that the squad missed a competent leader.
“If I were to describe my time at Liquid in a few words, it would be… short and disappointing. There wasn’t one voice, and it wasn’t my voice, Joka’s, or [Performance Manager] Edward’s. Everything was decided by a committee, and from my experience, leading by a committee doesn’t work,” Zews said.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid roster will make a return with a new setup at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 on July 31.
