One eSports legend has called on one of the key game makers in esports to correct an anomaly in their game before he rescinds his decision to retire and return to competitive play. FormaL announced his retirement from competitive Call of Duty three years ago, but he has made it public that he is considering a return to the game.

However, he has called on Activision to fix one gameplay feature, CoD’s over-the-top aim assist. FormaL, a CoD and Halo veteran, stated that he is keen on testing Black Ops 6 in September and that he may be tempted to go pro again after making the statement in July.

Later on the 2nd of August, ex-CoD legend and 100 Thieves frontman Nadeshot tempted Fuel FormaL the more in a stream by offering him a spot on the LA Thieves roster and OpTic with Hector.

However, beyond the request, FormaL demanded something be done to one of the things that turns him off when he thinks of returning to CoD.

“Ever since Warzone’s been introduced, dynamic aim assist and all this extra shit has drastically changed multiplayer CoD. That is one thing that turns me off about actually returning to CoD and going hard.” FormaL said.

Aim assist has been part of the modern CoD gameplay experience and it has experienced further tweaking since 2019 when the crossplay between PC and console became the norm with Modern Warfare.

FormaL insists that it has become one of the major issues in the game while hoping that with Black Ops 6, the feature is turned down significantly. There is also the issue of omnidirectional movement, which has seen a return to pre-modern Warfare levels of aim assist. Similarly, Nadeshot in April called for aim assist in CoD as the game needed the console community.
