FlyQuest’s early departure from the 2024 LoL Mid-Season Invitational has forced them to a big roster move as the LCS Summer Split approaches with an apparent demotion of veteran mid-laner Jensen from the starting lineup.
The League of Legends division FlyQuest team is putting the organization’s current Challengers mid-laner and former DRX starter, Song “Quad” Su-hyeong, in place of Jensen.
Furthermore, FlyQuest doesn’t mind if Jensen moves to a new team before the summer, but until then, the player will be sitting on the bench. However, aside from this shuffle, no other roster move is expected from FlyQuest before the summer arrives. This may be as a result of the fact that the team went one series away from winning the LCS championship this past split.
The team is believed to be complete and set to forge on, but they need just one more piece of the puzzle to make them contenders for the championship.
Meanwhile, Quad has been one of the best performers in the NA Challengers scene while pushing the organization to an NACL championship in just his regional debut.
This is the same player who has not been able to settle well in the majority of the teams he’s played for in his career, like Nongshim RedForce in 2023 and DRX in 2021.
The 21-year-old mid-laner has some experience with some meta champions like Ahri, Taliyah, and Corki—although Corki will be placed in the bottom lane with an imminent mid-scope update. Furthermore, Quad also holds the most kills as well as the second-highest KDA among all NACL mid-laners, averaging 879 damage to champions per minute.
The team will benefit from the firepower and experience it will bring in, in addition to the talent and potential that abound in the roster.
