A new competition gets underway in the summer in Esports with the CS2; it’s a competition that will see a lot of teams make shuffles and changes to their rosters heading into the competition. One of the teams that will be focused on is FaZe Clan.
FaZe Clan has been inconsistent of late, especially after they were dumped out of the IEM Rio Major in November 2022 very early coupled with the fact that they are yet to win a trophy since ESL Pro League Season 17 in March, which gave them the Intel Grand Slam trophy as well.
Many would have expected that with such a run, FaZe would bring in new faces and inject fresh blood. If that’s the expectations of the fans for FaZe, then those expectations may be crushed now after Twistzz reveal that FaZe won’t shuffle its roster for the global launch of CS2.
Twistzz revealed this during the BLAST Premier Spring Final’s media day on Wednesday, stating that the organization is happy with its current lineup.
“No changes. Everyone enjoys playing with each other, and we have great team chemistry, and it’s something we’re not gonna take for granted.” Twistzz said.
FaZe roster became a source of attention when Rain, a member and veteran on the FaZe roster, welcomed a baby in January, with many anticipating a change. It’s still uncertain if the Norwegian star will compete in CS2 or retire.
However, Rain renewed his contract in May, which shows that he won’t be leaving FaZe soon. FaZe is one of the eight participating teams competing to win the $425,000 BLAST Premier Spring Final this week in Washington, D.C. A finish in the semi-finals, at the least, will pour cold waters on any roster changes rumors.
FaZe has previously made controversial roster calls which include dropping karrigan in December 2018 and making NiKo the in-game leader. It was one move that destabilized Rain until Karrigan returned in 2021 after many roster changes.
