As FalleN was officially announced as a new entry into the FURIA roster on Monday, July 3, alongside Marcelo “Chelo” Cespedes, many of the Brazilian CS:GO fans were disappointed as their hopes of having FalleN’s old-time friend and former teammate Fer join him were dashed.
The legendary in-game leader will, alongside Chelo, see FURIA through the rest of 2023, as FalleN stated that he couldn’t trust Fer for the job this time.
Despite the community’s wishes to watch FalleN and Fer play together in a lineup that can contend for tier-one titles like Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming in 2016 and 2017, FalleN told Fer that he didn’t trust him this time around.
The last time FalleN and Fer reunited was under the Imperial banner in 2022 in a project dubbed “Last Dance,” but for didn’t fulfill his contract and left the team at the end of last year. Furthermore, Fer revealed on his live stream on Monday as well that he and FalleN should have remained together as they had an offer to join another team together, but FalleN chose to go to FURIA without him.
“He [FalleN] must have other reasons for not accepting [that offer]; FalleN told me he didn’t trust me for this [FURIA] project. I understand his side because I could abandon the project halfway through. In Imperial, for example, I did that. We had a contract to fulfill, but I ditched the project anyway.” fer said.
The revelation sparked reactions as fans berated FalleN for leaving Fer out of the move to FURIA even despite Fer revealing that he was still on good terms with FalleN irrespective of his disappointment with the situation
Meanwhile, it is also believed that FalleN chose not to go with Fer because Fer’s last professional game was in November 2022 for Imperial at the IEM Rio Major, focusing on content creation instead. Fallen and Chelo first game for FURIA will be at IEM Cologne, which will start on July 26.
