DWG KIA have secured the semi-final ticket of the 2022 LCK Summer Split playoffs after moving past KT.

Although KT had lost the chance of making the last four before the series, they proved their mettle.

Despite their reverse sweep effort, KT lost the battle against DWG KIA in a tightly contested affair. This was surprising to most League of Legends fans who didn’t predict that the LCK Summer Split playoff series between DWG KIA and KT would be so close.

Although DWG dominated the first two games, KT almost registered a reverse sweep in the intense clash.

At the end of it all, DWG prevailed over KT in game five and secured the 3-2 series victory.

In game one, DWG started strong, engaging, and managed to stay ahead of KT. They were able to maintain their gold lead by securing map objectives despite the fact that KT took down the Elder Drake.

All DWG did was just backdoor the enemy Nexus to bag the first game.

They continued their dominance in game two but didn’t keep the momentum as KT had some moments in the mid-game. KT were able to turn the game to some degree thanks to the brilliant setup from Rascal’s Ornn but were obliterated by DWG in the next teamfight. In this way, DWG registered a massive lead.

Despite suffering back-to-back losses, KT picked up Swain for Rascal and Sylas for Vicla and made their composition somehow work.

They got back into the game with Aiming’s Lucian dealing burst damage. KT then eventually took down DWG to get their first win in the series.

With DG aiming to quickly close the series, they tested KT’s resilience in game four by winning almost every teamfight.

DWG further aced KT and almost completely opened up their base, but KT held their ground and somehow got the Hextech Soul to help execute a remarkable comeback.

Now that they are levelled, they carried the confidence into a decisive game five.

Game five produced several shining moments as both teams seemed to have levelled up their gameplay.

ShowMaker’s Corki picked up a quadra kill to Aiming’s fed Zeri kiting a fleeing DWG team.

DWG took advantage of KT’s mistake when they decided to go for the Cloud Soul. DWG then executed a successful backdoor and took down the enemy Nexus, bragging the game and series.

DWG KIA will face T1 next in the semi-finals on Aug. 21.
