Two-time TI winner Collapse has addressed his status in Dota 2 from fans’ and neutrals’s point of view by rearranging the order in the ranking of the best Magnus player in the world.
Widely considered the best Magnus player in the world, the two-time TI winner Collapse rather surprisingly recognizes the lesser-known Dota 2 pro player Arise as the holder of the status currently.
It’s a surprising choice as Arise is a lesser-known Dota 2 pro and has only played a handful of tier-three tournaments this year.
Collapse made the statement on his social media handle on X on Tuesday where he said his own skills are inferior to Arise’s, saying he had about a quarter of Arise’s skill at TI10, and it increased to half at TI12, but he’s still two years away from being better than him when he was at his prime.
He said he admired Arise’s Magnus montage from YouTube before Team Spirit’s match against LGD in the Upper Bracket Final at TI12. Collapse’s record on Magnus is impressive, as he made it his top pick in 611 public matches, with a win rate of 59.57 percent. In professional matches, he’s picked it 54 times and has a 66.67 percent win rate in those matches, including two Aegises.
For Arise, his stats on Magnus are still impressive despite not matching Collapses’s. His pro-match win rate is 55.05 percent across 218 games.
Arise has been active in the pro scene since 2013, and many other pro players have learned from him. Both Collapse and Arise are great in their own way, with different playing players and strengths. Collapse’s biggest strength is his decision-making, which can be very clinical, while Arise is more of a creative player with artistry and flair in his plays.
